Author Guidelines

The Journal of Contemporary Christian Practice welcomes submissions from practitioners, academics and students, and church leaders who seek to contribute thoughtful, well-grounded insight into the realities of modern Christian ministry. All submissions are initially reviewed by an editor to ensure that they align with the journal’s aims and scope. Submissions which are deemed a good fit for the journal will be progressed to the peer review stage, where they will be assessed for clarity, quality, and their contribution to contemporary ministry practice.

Before submitting, authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce any material included in their submission, such as photographs, illustrations, documents, or datasets. All individuals listed as authors must have agreed to the submission and to being identified as contributors. Where relevant, research should have received approval from an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal and professional standards.

Editorial decisions may be made at the desk-review stage if a submission does not meet basic standards of clarity or relevance. To support a smooth review process, authors should ensure that their work presents a coherent study or reflection, that the argument is well-articulated, and that the title and abstract accurately communicate the focus of the work. Preparing the submission with care increases the likelihood that reviewers will be able to engage with it constructively. Once your submission meets these expectations, please follow the checklist below to complete the submission process.
